Donors like you Helped Mildred get her life back

Mildred enjoyibng her vacation

Mildred Breault was 78 years young and living life to the fullest. A retired high school principal with a passion for adventure, she had once spent a year traveling solo across Africa. But a series of unexpected falls during a trip to Mexico shook her confidence to the core.

"I hadn't fallen for years," Mildred recalls. But in just a short couple of months, she fell four times. She was worried.

The falls made Mildred increasingly cautious, and she began to question her abilities. "I had travelled a lot, and I saw that slipping away. I didn't know what I was going to do with myself."

Then, thanks to the generosity of donors like you, Mildred found hope at Bruyère Health's John and Jennifer Ruddy Geriatric Day Hospital. This vital program, supported by donations, assists seniors at risk before more serious issues develop.

Twice a week, Mildred attended the program, working diligently on:

  • Balance exercises
  • Strength training
  • Regaining confidence in daily activities

Slowly but surely, Mildred's strength improved, her balance became steadier, and most importantly, she regained her confidence.

"It has given me my life back," Mildred shares with gratitude.
