About:

Matthieu Boisgontier is a physiotherapist, a kinesiologist, and a certified medical imaging technologist. He completed his PhD in France in 2012 at Université Grenoble Alpes. His research program blends neuroscience, gerontology, and health to contribute to understanding physical activity and sensorimotor control. Boisgontier has served on 10 editorial boards including Communications in Kinesiology and Peer Community In (PCI) Health & Movement Sciences. His scientific work has been communicated in 50+ countries and 500+ media (e.g., The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Globe and Mail).


Professor Boisgontier teaches in the Physiotherapy Program (University of Ottawa) and his research activities are located at the Lees Campus, University of Ottawa, and the Bruyère Health Élisabeth-Bruyère Hospital. His research work focuses primarily on healthy and pathological aging, physical activity, and sensorimotor control.


Research Interests:

Aging, functional dependence, exercise, motor control, postural control.
