About:
James Conklin, PhD, is an author, educator, scientist, and consultant specializing in planned organizational change. His book, Balancing Acts: A Human Systems Approach to Organizational Change, has been described as “authoritative without being didactic” and “exciting and deeply insightful.” Conklin has led numerous consulting projects intended to improve or transform organizations and since 2010 has been affiliated with more than $3M in funded research.
He recently led studies of how communities of practice spread innovations in Ontario’s health system, and how long-term care homes coped with change during the COVID-19 pandemic. He has authored (or co-authored) over forty academic publications and has also published op-eds with The Globe and Mail and PostMedia.
Research Interests:
Implementation science, knowledge translation, organizational change, systems change, organization development, planned change.
