Getting ready for the solar eclipse
04/04/2024
This year, on April 8, we get to experience a rare and exciting cosmic event: a solar eclipse!
The eclipse will start at 2:10 pm and end at 4:35 pm. The darkest part will only last a few minutes at 3:25 p.m.
Though the eclipse will be stunning, there is no safe time to stare directly at the sun. You can catch the live stream here.
- For patients and residents staying on our sites, we will be closing blinds in rooms and areas that may be impacted. Please reach out to your care team if you have any questions.
- Appointments will continue as scheduled on April 8. Please plan accordingly, especially if your appointment is during the same period.
Ottawa Public Health has also provided a lot of information on how you can prepare for the eclipse, please see here.
